March Favourites!

Hey guys! Happy Easter! Today is Monday, so it's time for some favourites! March is ending and I've been loving a lot of things, so I wanted to share them with you. I hope you'll enjoy my first monthly favourites post and you'll have an amazing week! Make sure to check my last post, a collab with El, as well ^^ Let's go!

1- Career of Evil, by Robert Galbraith (a.k.a. J.K. Rowling)
I don't know if you've heard of the Cormoran Strike books, but just in case you haven't, after Rowling had that huge success with Harry Potter and was judged harshly on The Casual Vacancy, she felt a lot of pressure and didn't enjoy writing any more. That's why she decided to write a mistery novel called The Cuckoo's Calling under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. It had amazing reviews and eventually the identity of the writer was leaked. Career of Evil is her third book of the series, and can I tell you... I loved the other two, but this one is THE BEST. It's sheer brilliance. From the characters to the plot, to the adrenaline, to the language, to everything... this is one of the best novels I've EVER read and I can't get enough of it. I strongly, strongly recommend it if you like mistery novels, you won't be disappointed!

2- Essence's "All Eyes On Me" mascara
I've had this for a while, but I haven't used it until recently. I like it for reasons (I know) others won't: it doesn't give your lashes a looooot of extra volume. Usually, when I put it on, I'm not wearing any other makeup, so it would look weird to have huge lashes with nothing else hahah it just accentuates them, which is something I really like; it's really cheap, it's not sticky and it lasts all day long. I love it!

3- Grumpy Cat PJs
This might be my favourite overall hahah I. Absolutely. Love. It! I bought these PJs on Primark and the moment I catched a glimpse of them I knew they had to be mine. I absolutely adore Grumpy Cat and I can't get enough of it! They are also really comfy and perfect for Spring. And finally, the quote on the T-shirt ("This is my happy face") is perfect for when I wake up hahaha

4- Bonté's Body Cream
I've told you before about this brand: it's from a Spanish supermarket called Clarel and their products are usually amazing and SO cheap. I bought their body cream on the "Romantic Orchid" scent and it smells amazing, I apply it after my shower and it leaves my skin feeling so moisturised! I don't know if I have any Spanish readers, but if I do, check these products out!

5- Bonté's MED range for greasy skin
Again products from Bonté. My skin is quite greasy (not as much as it was in the past) and I need to keep a daily skincare routine. I stopped because it wasn't that bad and the products were too expensive, but then I discovered this ones and I've been using them since! I own the Purifying Tonic, the Facial Moisturizer and the Purifying Attack. I especially like this last one, because it does a direct action on the spots you have: you apply it on them and it dries them so they go away really quickly.

6- American reality singing competitions
This one is a little random, but seriously, they are amazing this year! The last season of American Idol is about to end and my early favourite (Sonika Vaid, check her cover of Bring Me To Life!) is already out, but the 4 people left are so good! And don't get me started on The Voice. It's my favourite reality singing competition format and this year the singers are SO good! I keep downloading the covers and I go crazy over them. Love love love it!

So that's it! Let me know if you share one of my favourites and if not, tell me what favourites have you had this month! Love you!

A big big hug,

Acqua

Finish The Sentence | Collab with El!

Hi guys! I'm really excited about today's post because I get to collab with one of my favourite bloggers, El! We're going to do a "Finish The Sentence" tag we found online. The rules are really simple: you have a list with some sentences' beginnings and you have to finish them. I'm going to post El's sentences and she's going to post mine on her blog, theramblingssofmoi.blogspot.com . Make sure to go over to her blog to read my version, and if you aren't subscribed to her, go and do it quickly! Her blog is amazing, you won't regret it ^^

Before starting the tag, though, I want to take a moment to tell you how thankful I am because of your comments on my last post. It was such an important topic to me and I feel honoured to have all of you as my readers and friends! Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Having said that, I present you El's tag! Enjoy it!

QOTW #6: World Down Syndrome Day

Hi there! How are you? I hope you have had an amazing Monday and it will lead to an amazing week!

This is probably one of the most honest, heartfelt and emotional posts you'll see me writing, and I'm already tearing up just at the thought of it. And that's because I'm going to talk about a topic that really touches my heart and that I'm really, really passionate about.

Today is the World Down Syndrome Day. If you read my last post 50 Facts About Me you'll be aware of the fact that my best friend has Down Syndrome, so yes, this is a special day for me and I'd like to share this part of me that's so important with you.

First of all, let me start by saying that she IS my best friend. I don't say it so she will feel better. I don't say it out of pity. And I don't say it to look good. She is my best friend because she has taught me so many things. She is my best friend because she makes me a better person.

I can't even find the words to describe it, so I'm going to switch to the quote. And this quote is so important. My best friend has Down Syndrome, but she ISN'T Down Syndrome. This affectation is a characteristic about her, the same way we all have our particularities, but there is so much more to her that you could miss if you just look at that extra chromosome.

And it's not even like it only happens with Down Syndrome. I have anxiety, but I'm not anxiety. Other people have other things, but they're not that thing. And I find it really sad that some people can't go beyond that, because there is so much greatness they aren't seeing.

The only thing they want is to be treated equal. To have friends, to go out with them, to have a job, to have rights, to decide for themselves, to feel like humans. Because they feel the same way we do. They get happy, sad, upset, angry, nervous, excited... and then, why do we treat them like they're so different than we are?

I read a quote of a father directed to his daughter, who had Down Syndrome, and I thought it to be so brilliant: I have the feeling that I think more, but the question still stands: what things are more worth thinking?

I feel like this quote leads me where I wanted to go. People keep thinking she's lucky to have me, but honestly? I'm the one who is lucky to have her. She saved me in so many ways. She has taught me so many important things. She makes me better. She makes me more human.

And in the end... what is a disability? She finds it more difficult to get to some places, but she works as hard as it gets to reach her goals. And honestly, in the years I've been on this Earth, if I've learned one thing, it's that the only thing that matters in the end is being able to love.

When it comes to that, the disabled ones are the rest of us.

A big big hug,

Acqua

Top 5 Spring/Summer Nail Polish Shades & 1000 VIEWS!

Heya! How are you guys? As you see, there isn't a Quote of the Week this Monday, and this is because I've decided to change things up a little bit!

Looking back into my older posts I've realised that a lot of them are really similar. And I like that kind of posts, but I think I have to combine them with other things so this blog will cover more areas and you won't get bored with it! Don't worry though, it doesn't mean the QOTW is over, it just means that my schedule will change a little bit: on Monday, I'll alternate a QOTW and a Favourites post, and on Friday, who knows what might come! What do you think about it? Do you like the new schedule? Let me know if you have any suggestions!

I also want to thank you BECAUSE I REACHED 1000 VIEWS! This is honestly so crazy. Thank you so, so much for taking a little bit of your time to read and comment, it means the world to me! I started this blog a month and a half ago and I feel like I've come such a long way since then. And I also made the appearance of my blog a little more personal... what do you think about it?

So thank you again, and on with the post!

As you know, I'm not someone who wears make-up everyday, and I'm definitely NOT an expert on beauty-related things, but if there's one thing I absolutely love is having tons of colors to wear on my nails! I'm actually in a hiatus of buying new nail polish shades because I just had so many I didn't use all of them hahaha (I kept buying more and more, I love it!)

Spring is around the corner, and it's my favourite season, so I'm pretty excited about it! I'm seeing lots of people talking about their favourite Spring products, so this post was just meant to be. Again, I'm a drugstore girl, so my FAVOURITE brand to buy nail polish is Maybelline! They are so cheap (€1.99) and honestly, they dry so quickly, they don't crack until a long time has gone by... you can wear them for a couple of weeks and they still look amazing! I do have more brands, but my favourite Spring shades happen to be all from Maybelline's range Colorshow (previously called Colorama) hahaha Well, I hope you won't mind! So without any further ado, here are my absolute faves!

1- Canal Street Coral (shade 329)

This isn't only my favourite Spring/Summer shade, this is my FAVOURITE SHADE EVER. You can tell because I'm about to finish it (and it's not the first one I bought!) It's so bright and cheerful, the tone is reaaaaaally pretty (it's a kind of bright pinky orange), and I also have a t-shirt of the same shade, so when I wear both I just feel so well combined hahahaha I haven't worn it since September, I think, and I cannot wait to put it on again! It's also a lot better than it looks on the picture haha Trust me on this one!

2- Park Avenue Pink (shade 333)

It's a deep and bright pink, and it's the perfect shade to cheer you up! The only problem is you can't wear red clothes when you have it on, because they just don't match hahah But I love the tone, I highly recommend it!

3- Candy Apple (shade 15)

This is my favourite red because it's a bit darker than most reds and it's perfect when you want to feel a little bit more dressed up (you can't quite appreciate it in the picture.) It has a wine-y tone to it, but if you apply more layers it will be more plain red. It's up to you, depending on your mood and on what you decide! My personal preference is the wine-y shade :)

4- Urban Turquoise (shade 120)

This one can be controversial hahaha one of my best friends hates it because she only likes reds, pinks and so on, but I love it because it's such a statement and again, it just cheers me up when I see it! It definitely draws attention to the nails and it's a bold choice, but if you like this kind of shade, it's really good!

5- Broadway Blue (shade 335)

You know I had to buy it when I saw the name! You can honestly wear it all year long, because it suits all the seasons (I wear it a lot on Winter too), but I think it looks good on Spring too. It helps you get away of the typical colours but it's still bright and it has a cool vibe. I don't know if that made any sense hahaha I just like it a lot!

So there you go! I'm really happy about this post because I get to share one of my favourite things with you :) Let me know your favourite nail polish shade in the comments, and see you on Friday!

A big big hug,

Acqua

Favourite Broadway Shows: Collab With Rosie

Hi there! How are you today? I'm really, really excited for you to read this post, because it's a collab with Rosie from rosieauthorwriting.blogspot.com ! She's one of my favourite bloggers, and I'm sure you all know and love her, but just in case you don't... go to her blog! (Of course, after reading this post hahaha) We both are obsessed with musical theatre (I have a belief we're LesMis twins, I agree with every single word she says about it!), that's why this post was meant to be! So I'll be posting her favourites and she'll be posting mine on her post. Enjoy and make sure to tell us your favourites on the comments!

Les Miserables.
Don't even get me started on Les Miserables. From the film, to the book, to the musical, I love it all. The plot and music is something which I really love, I like the depth within it as well as the fact that there are revolutionaries protesting. Also, EPONINE, oh my, and some of you may know I absolutely ADORE her and I also love A Little In Love, which is a book about her life. Overall, this is my all time favourite musical, I will love it forever. Favourite song: Arrggghhh I can't choose, but I really love A Little Fall of Rain, gets me every time :'(

Hairspray
This is such an exciting and entertaining show! From the catchy songs, to the great dances, to the funny one liners... This is set in the early 60's about a girl named Tracy who gets the chance to dance on her favourite show. However, as Tracy is overweight, Amber, one of the malicious girls on the show, wants to sabotage Tracy... This is just such a fun musical, which is guarenteed to get you grinning! I also love the fact how racism and segregation is tackled in the show, as it has a really good message in it. If you're looking to watch this show, I would definitely suggest the film! Favourite Song: Run and Tell That
The Sound Of Music
The Sound Of Music is such a lovely musical to watch! Set in Austria right before the beginning of the second world war, it follows a nun, named Maria, who goes to be a governess at Captain Von Trapp's home, for his seven children. She teaches them to love music. What I particularly love about TSOM is the fact that she changes the childrens' lives through music, as I also believe that music is a truly magical thing, which everyone should grow to love. Favourite Song: 16 going on 17

Oliver!
I love the book Oliver Twist, by Charles Dickens, and I also adore the musical! Following a young boy named Oliver who begs for more gruel at the workhouse, he then is kicked out into the streets. It's set in a really interesting Victorian background which I think makes it all the more diverse and unique to watch. I also absolutely LOVE the character of Nancy she is so sweet and caring and I love how she takes care of Oliver :) Favourite song: As Long As he Needs Me

Next To Normal
Next To Normal tackles big issues, like mental health, in a very creative way. It's one of my favourites because it is about how mental health doesn't just affect you, but the people around you. I think that Next To Normal is such a unique show, with so much character, and a really fascinating plot. I particularly love the Broadway Aaron Tveit version. Favourite song: I'm Alive- particularly when Aaron Tveit sings it <3

I hope you enjoyed Rosie's answers, I sure did! And make sure to read mine on her blog!

A big big hug,

QOTW #5: Being Light

"Being light" and hope is something really important to me, it's kind of my mantra, what I put in the center of my life!

I had a time in my life when I became my pain. And because all of me was pain, I started to focus on everybody else who might have needed help and left all of my problems hidden. Then I realised I was only hurting myself, and I wanted to change it. So I started to work on it. On that time, I was broken, and I kept complaining about everything I'd been through. "If I hadn't..." became my most said sentence. "If I hadn't been through all of this stuff, I wouldn't have all these problems now."

I eventually took a more positive attitude, but there was something I was still wrong about. I kept saying that because I was broken, I had to mend myself before being of help for others. It doesn't mean that I didn't want to help any more. It means that I thought I wasn't... qualified.

I thought, innocent me, I would heal completely. But that never happens, does it? Even if we get over it, there are always scars. And that's good; they are part of ourselves, and we have to embrace them. I also feel like even if we might be hurt, we can still help. If we wait for ourselves to be completely out of it, we might be waiting forever. We have to keep doing things. It isn't "help yourself or help the others". You will always need help, and the others will always need help. The importance is in finding a balance.

In late December, I was in kind of a meeting, and all 7000 of us lit small candles. It was beautiful. But before this happened, when I was given my candle, I broke it while sitting down (I'm just that clumsy). And I was mad at first, but then I realised I was like that candle. Small, and broken, but still willing to give light. At least... willing to try. I think this is what's important, in the end.

Do you have any quotes you'd like to see my viewpoint on? I'd love to talk about your favourite quotes! Also, on Friday I have a collab with Rosie coming up and I'm really excited about it! Make sure to come and read it! ^^

A big big hug!

The Lip Product Tag and the Get To Know Me Tag!

Hey hey hey! How are you doing? I've been nominated for a couple of tags, so that's what I'm going to do today! But first of all, I want to thank everybody who commented on my last post, it was really hard for me to write and seeing that I have your support means the world to me! I won't forget it :)

Before I start these tags I'm going to answer a couple of questions some of you have been asking! I wanted to keep where I'm from private because I was so obsessed with being anonymous, but given that I'm gonna be talking about products that are found in my country it wouldn't make sense to hide it! And anyway you all must have had a growth in Spanish visits in your blogs hahaha so yes, I live in Spain, but my mothern language is Catalan, since I live in an area called Catalonia, and it has its own language, traditions, history, and so on. But I can speak Catalan and Spanish equally! There you go hahaha you know something more about me now!

The first tag I'm gonna do is the "Get to know me" tag! I've been nominated by El the bookworm, whose blog I absolutely love, if you haven't, go check it out!

What is your favourite way to style your hair?

I usually wear my hair down (I have really long hair), or I take some shorter strands from the front and pin them back with bobby pins! It's halfway through a half-up half-down style hahaha In Summer either one or two braids. What you'll NEVER see me wearing is a ponytail or anything that puts all my hair back and leaves my face completely free, since I have a wide face and it does NOT look good on me! And I always wear a tiny braid lost among all the hair!

What is one movie you could re watch over and over again?

Probably The Proposal! I love me some Romantic Comedies, and if Sandra Bullock's in it... I'm sold! I'm quite a Drama Queen and I love dramatic movies, but some times I'd rather see a lighter plot, and I don't get tired of it!

Do you have any pets?

Yes! I have a white kitty... insert picture here! She was spoiled by an old woman who later sent her out, and we kept her... but she's so annoying now! I hope we'll calm her down!

What's on your nails right now?

Right now, I'm wearing shade 04 Keep Calm & Go For A Walk, from Essence's collection "Hello Autumn" (I know, Autumn is far away, but the shade is gorgeous!). It's a really cheap thermo changing nail polish, and it goes from nude pink (cold) to orangey pink (hot) depending on the temperature!

What's your favourite thing about blogging?

I think it has to be the comments I get, and also seeing the list of countries from which people are reading my blog. It's mindblowing! I love languages and cultures and diversity, and the fact that my words can reach someone on the other side of the world is amazing to me! So thank you, all of you, so very much!

Bold eyes or bold lips?

Bold eyes! But that's coming from someone who isn't to be trusted when it comes down to make-up hahaha

If you could blog about one brand's product, which brand would it be?

Hmmmm I'm a drugstore girl with not much money to spend on beauty, so I think I'll go with Maybelline or Essence!

Most used/loved product?

Actually a hand cream from a Spanish supermarket's range! (The range is Bonté by Clarel, if anyone was curious.) I was really surprised when I tried it, it smells amazing and it leaves my hands so moisturised! It also comes in a small package, so it's the perfect size to have on my handbag.

Would you rather have flawless skin and not be able to wear any makeup or never wear skin makeup again but still be allowed to use makeup?

Flawless skin hands down. I don't use make-up that often anyways hahaha

What is your most hated thing about wearing makeup?

I think there isn't a special thing to hate about it! I'd rather leave it for special occasions because I don't feel comfortable wearing it every day, but that's just me, and I totally love hearing about brands and everything. On the times I wear make-up, having to take it away before going to sleep does bother me actually!

I nominate V, nycheartsme and Girl on Rainbow!

And now, on to "The lip product" tag! I was nominated by ItsElla and, honestly, I was terrified, because I don't have many beauty-related products, just a few drugstore ones that I like and that work for me for the few times I wear make-up. But I asked a friend for help to complete the questions I didn't have my own answer for! So thanks, Ella, and you all make sure to check her blog as well, it's awesome!

Favourite lip balm or treatment

I'm currently using Rimmel's "Keep Calm And Kiss" (these people are so original with the names hahaha) lip balm from the Rita Ora range and I love it! It also has a pink undertone, which makes it  really pretty.

Favourite eye catching red.

I had to ask a friend for help with some questions and actually, all of her answers were the same: MAC's Russian Red! She's so obsessed with it she told me to put it everywhere I could!

Best luxury and drugstore product

That would be Russian Red again! My favourite drugstore product is Essence's lipstick in the shade 09 I Feel Pretty! It's so beautiful, it's not really bold (because I don't usually wear make-up I feel really weird wearing something you can see from miles away!) and it really suits my skin tone.

Best MAC lipstick

You guessed it! Russian Red! ;)

The first one is Essence's "I feel pretty" and the second one is Basic cosmetics' lip pencil!

Most disappointing lip product

That supermarket I told you about also has a make-up range called "Basic cosmetics", and I bought a lip pencil from that range in the orange shade. It's a pretty tone, but it makes your lips feel and look really dry and it doesn't really allow them to breathe!

Lipliner - Yes or No

Not really. I'm just too lazy hahaha

Favourite lipgloss

Essence's XXXL nude lipgloss in the shade 03 Taste The Sweets (wow, I've just realised there's a lot of Essence on this list!).

So that's it! I'm not nominating anyone for this one because I've seen almost everybody do it! If you haven't, consider yourself nominated!

I've been hesitant about writing a make-up related post because I'm not an expert, but maybe you'd like to see what's in my make-up bag... I'm quite happy about what I have and it's not expensive at all! Let me know if you'd be interested in seeing it! What I'm actually obsessed about is nail polish, I might make a post about that as well. I don't know... what would you like me to write about? I feel like most of my posts have been really similar and I'd like to change things up! It would be great to see your opinion, to know what you'd rather read :)

A big big hug!
